![]() The mission of the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is to pioneer innovative, transformative solutions designed to end hunger in our community. Significant donations were made to organizations who serve the communities seriously impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Through its partnership with Citrix, Oak City Cares was able to provide them and help lessen the potential for spread of the virus in the homeless community in Wake County. During the COVID-19 pandemic, restrictions on use forced the need for mobile shower units. Oak City Cares provides an array of services including their Basic Needs Program, which provides guests with access to showers, laundry, a hospitality area with coffee, and computers and cell phone charging stations. The primary and overarching goal of Oak City Cares is to make homelessness in our community rare, brief, and non-recurring. Oak City Cares serves those experiencing homelessness in Wake County, North Carolina. More than 15,000 students served by 275 teachers from Teach for America Eastern North Carolina will benefit from having teachers who have access to this resource and are able to focus their energies on delivering higher quality instruction and support. The Teach for America Eastern North Carolina division initiated a project with Code the Dream to develop curriculum content specifically to support beginning teachers engaging with students in a virtual setting. Through funding provided by Citrix Raleigh, Kramden was able to expand their services, and more specifically collect, prep, distribute, and provide program evaluation and technical support for their recipients. Their core program, Kramden Tech Scholars, provides students grades K-12 who do not have access to a home computer with a free, refurbished computer. The mission of the Kramden Institute is to provide technology tools and training to bridge the digital divide. Racial Equity and Social JusticeĬommunities in Schools of Wake County (CIS Wake)ĬIS Wake helps schools remove the barriers that put students at risk of not fulfilling their potential by building relationships with community stakeholders, including Citrix Raleigh, to bridge gaps that are critical to the success of K-12 students, including access to academic support, technology, mentors, basic needs, and enrichment opportunities. ![]() Let’s take a look at a few of our partners and the great work they do.
